About the Hillsborough, New Jersey Area 

Hillsborough Township is located in Somerset County in New Jersey. It has an area of 54.8 square miles and the population was 36,634 (2000 Census). 

Hillsborough contains several towns which, although unincorporated, are served by Hillsborough schools and considered communities of Hillsborough township. They include 

Belle Mead, which sits along the border of Hillsborough and Montgomery townships; 

Neshanic and South Branch, historic, scenic communities within Hillsborough township with vibrant forestry and beautiful views; 

Blackwell Mills, another historic community which borders on Franklin and Hillsborough township.  

Flagtown, a small community within Hillsborough township. 

Other towns near Hillsborough are Manville, Montgomery, Branchburg, Somerville, North Brunswick Township and Kendall Park. 

Major highways near Hillsborough are Route 206, Route 1, Route 202, Route 28 and Route 287 which link to other highways in New Jersey.
